FACULTY
W. DOUGLAS ROBINSON
Associate Professor
B.A., M.S., Southern Illinois University
Ph.D., University of Illinois
My goal is to produce knowledge of the natural world by conducting
high quality scientific research and to disseminate that knowledge
by teaching and writing. My research takes two directions;
one is to address issues of stated need by colleagues and natural
resource managers, whereas the second is to address what I see as
some of the ‘big, unanswered’ questions in ecology. In
the former category, research on gamebirds, aridlands ecology, and
fire ecology is relevant. In the latter, projects on comparative
life history evolution of temperate and tropical birds and the development
of a cellular ‘phone’ for tracking bird migrations across
the globe are prominent.
